Sara was born on April 1, 2009 and she lives in the Manrique neighborhood in Colombia. Her mother is a housewife and her father has various occupations. The family income is about $294 per month, which is barely enough to cover the basic needs of the family. Sara loves role playing with dolls, and she is a very smart little girl. Valerin was born on March 23, 2009 in Manrique La Cruz, Medellín, Colombia. She lives with her mother, who is self-employed and earns just US $200 per month. This meager income does not allow Valerin’s mother to buy her daughter new school supplies for the year.

Valerin loves to spend time with friends, playing with dolls and puzzles.

Heidy was born on April 24, 2008 in Medellín, Colombia. She lives in Manrique La Cruz with her parents. Heidy’s father, Alirio is a builder, and her mom, Maribel is a housewife that stays at home and takes care of Heidy and the household. The family’s income is only US $200 per month, which only covers the basic necessities.

Heidy uses her free time to read fairy tales, poetry and play with puppets. She also enjoys drawing.

Andres was born on May 6, 2008 in Medellín, Colombia. He lives with his mom, Yeni, whom stays at home to take care of Andrés. Andres´s grandparents help financially with US $100 per month. This amount of money only allows Yeni to purchase items that are absolutely necessary, making it difficult for Yeni to buy new school materials for Andres.

Andres very much enjoys playing with cars, sand and balls. He loves childrens´s songs and videos.

Manuela was born on April 23, 2008 in Medellín, Colombia and lives with her parents. Her father, Robinson, is coffee picker and her mom, Leidy, is a housewife that stays at home and takes care of the family. The family’s income is US $150 per month which covers just the basic needs.

Manuela loves spending her free time reading stories, painting and spending time with friends.

Jorge was born on April 26, 2008 in Medellín, Colombia and lives in the Manrique La Cruz neighborhood. Jorge´s father, Yeimis de Jesús, works in different trades and earns just US $200 per month. Jorge´s mother, Marcela, stays at home to take care of Jorge. The family’s meager income does not enable Jorge’s parents to afford new school supplies and they have been very appreciative of the Carla Cristina organization for their support.

Jorge likes playing with trucks, buses and cars. He also likes books, singing songs and listening to nursery rhymes. In this picture, Jorge is doing a puzzle, which he also very much enjoys.

Valeria was born on Augusth 16, 2008 in Medellín, Colombia. Valeria´s family lives in the Manrique La Cruz Neighborhood. Her father, Alexander, works in several different trades and her mom Ledis is an operator. The family’s income is US $450 per month, which covers only the basic needs and does not afford the family the ability to buy Valeria new school supplies.

Valeria loves drawing, fairy tales and playing with puppets. She also loves spending her free time with her friends.

Alison was born on May 25, 2009 in Medellín, Colombia. Alison’s father, Jorge, works in construction and her mom, Lina, stays home to take care of Alison. The family income is $150 per month.

Julián was born on May 24, 2008 in Manrique La Cruz, Medellín.  He lives with his father Norbey, who is a gardener and his mother Martha, whom stays at home to take care of Julián and the household. Julián’s  father earns just US$150 per month, which does not always allow the family the ability to buy additional items for Julián.

Julián likes to spend his free time playing with cars, balls and the sand and overall is very healthy and happy kid.

Karen was born on October 10, 2006 in Medellín, Colombia. She lives with her mother, who stays at home, and her father who works as a machine operator. The average income of Karen’s family is about $300 per month.
