Five Children Ready to Take on School!

Yacely, on the left was born on September 14, 2007 in Medellín and lives with his mother, three brothers, an aunt and a cousin in Colombia. His mother does not work but gets about $200 a month in support from other family members. Yacely likes playing with dolls and dancing.

Third from the left is Maicol, born on June 18, 2007 in Medellín. He lives with his parents and four brothers. His father works as a manual laborer and earns $240 a month. He likes to paint.

Second from the right is Salome, born on September 28, 2007. She lives with her maternal grandmother, mother and sister. Her mother is a cook, and earns $500 a month. She enjoys playing with clay.

On the right is Juan, born on June 26 2007 in Medellín, Colombia. He lives with his parents and two sisters. His mother works as a nanny and his father work as a day laborer. The two of them earn $400 a month. He likes to play with cars.

From left to right:

Xiomara just turned five years old and hails from Medellin. She lives with her parents. Her father is a bus driver and makes about $300 dollars a month. She enjoys playing pretend and cooking with her little kitchen!

Gladys is also five years old and lives with her mother, her three brothers, and her stepfather. Her mother is a street vendor and makes 80 dollars a month. She also likes playing with her kitchenette

Cristian is four years old and lives with his parents in Medellin. His father is a grocer and his mother works as a machine operator for a recycling company; together, they make $300 monthly. He likes playing with cars and solving puzzles!

Dilan is four years old and lives with his mother, his sister, and his maternal grandparents. His mother spends her time at home, and his grandfather makes about $80 a month. In his spare time, Dilan plays soccer with his peers.

Reichel is five years old and lives with her mother, her two sisters and her two brothers. Her mother sells mobile plans downtown and makes $100 a month. Reichel hopes to be a model when she is grown up, and enjoys playing with dolls.

Though coming from a  variety of backgrounds, all of these children were in great need of school supplies. Thanks to your generous donation, all three of these kids will go back to school fully prepared with a back to school kit! Thank you so much for your generosity, Dinah!

Alejandra was born in 2007, and is from Medellin. She lives with her parents, her uncle and one sister. Alejandra loves to play with dolls, sing and dance. Her father and uncle work at various offices and together earn about $440 per month.

Danna just turned three and is from the same neighborhood. She lives with her parents and siblings. Danna loves to play with veils and dress-up. Her mother helps in construction work and earns approximately $270 per month.

Each of you provided a back to school kit for these children. Thanks to your kindness, these children attend school with a backpack filled with goodies that allow them to participate fully in learning! Juan is five years old and lives in the same neighborhood as Kevin. He currently lives with his parents. His father washes cars for a living and makes $200 monthly. Juan loves playing with toy cars and action figures.

Miguel is three years old and lives with his grandmother, his aunt, his mother and his two brothers. His grandmother works in a family home and makes $200 a month to provide for the family. He enjoys playing with his little brothers and watch television.

Three-year-old Carlos lives with his mother, his brother and his grandmother in the Altos de Oriente neighborhood of Medellin. His mother runs her own independent business from home, selling catalogues and food products; she makes about $175 monthly. Carlos enjoyings playing with tools and balls.

Duveney Sepúlveda Areiza is three years old and lives with his parents, four brothers, and uncle in the El Pinal neighborhood. His family has suffered from the dificulties of unemployment and they have an income of $100 a month. Duveney likes to play with toy cars.

Santiago is almost six years old and lives with his parents and two older brothers in Tierradentro. He loves to play and visit the firemen at the fire department. His father is a conductor and his mother is engaged in household chores. The family makes roughly $300 a month. James is happy with his new backpack and all the items it contains.

Jhoan is almost six years old, land lives with his mother and his grandparents. His grandfather is currently retired, and contributes about $250 through his retirement. His mother and grandmother work throughout the house. Jhoan loves the colors in his new backpack.

David is five years old and currently lives in Pachelly with his parents and older brother. His father works in construction and his mother is a homemaker; together, they make $350 a month. In his spare time, David loves playing with his older brother. David is thrilled with all the goodies his backpack provides!

Maria is five years old and lives with her mother and grandmother in Villas del Sol. Her mother is a student and her grandmother provides for her family through her pension. She makers about $200 a month. Maria loves drawing, and decorated her home with the new colors in her backpack!

Sara (the girl on the left) was born in March in Medellin. She currently lives with her parents and siblings. She likes to play in the sand with shovels and rakes. Her mother is a housewife and her father is a policeman; collectively, they make $300 a month.

3 year old Anderson (the boy with the striped shirt) lives in Medellin. He lives with his mother and his siblings. He enjoys playing soccer. His mother is unemployed and does not have enough resources to support her family.

Santiago (the boy on the far right) is 3 years old and also lives in Medellin. He currently lives with his parents and brothers. He likes playing with toy cars and airplanes. His mother is a housewife and his father is self-employed. They make $150 monthly.

In spite of their meager incomes, your donation provided these children all the necessities for school! She lives in the village of Buenos Aires in the municipality of Bello with her parents and her elder sister.  She  likes to play with dolls and comb their hair. Her father is a construction official and her mother is a dedicated homemaker.  The monthly income of the family is approximately $350. Maria can create beautiful pictures with her new crayons.

Ana was born in Bello on the 24th of May in 2005 and lives in the village of Araucarias with her parents. She loves to paint, especially flowers. Her father sells things and her mother is dedicated to the work at home. The monthly income for this family is approximately $250. thanks to your donation Ana is so happy with her new crayons because with them her flowers are even more beautiful.

Mariana was born in Bello the 23rd of June in 2005. She lives with her parents and two brothers in the village Playa Rica. Her favorite game is to play house imitating the work that she observes her mother doing. Her father has a small piece of land outside of the city and he is dedicated to cultivating it himself. Their monthly income that comes from selling whatever he can grow is between $300 and $400 a month. Mariana is very content with her new colors and crayons.

Luciana was born in Bello the 12th of October in 2005. She lives in the village of  Playa Rica with her parents. Her favorite game is to play with dolls and to share her playtime’s with friends that are the same age as she. Her father works in a  business that processes aluminum and her mother is an independent seller. Together they earn approximately $500 per month. Luciana is very happy with her new backpack so she can carry her belongings into the garden.

Jimena was born in Bello the 15th of February in 2006. She lives with her mother, her grandparents and an aunt in the village of Playa Rica. Her favorite game is to invent new dresses for her dolls. Her mother works in an events business and earns approximately $400 per month. Jimena is very happy with the striking colors and with them she draws new dresses for her dolls.

His father is a conductor in a well know local business in the municipality of Bello and his mother is dedicated to house work. The monthly income of this family is approximately $300 a month. Juan Esteban is very happy with his new crayons and he enjoys his colorful creations.

Juan Jose was born in Bello on the 14th of July in 2005. He lives in the village of Alpes with his parents. He loves to play dress-up and role play. Juan Jose is spontaneous and creative. His father works in a candy shop and takes the sweets to different stores in the municipality. His mother is dedicated to the work at home. The family’s monthly income is approximately $250 per month. Juan Jose is so happy with his new folders and enjoys the magic of color.

Tomas was born in Bello the 28th of March in 2006. He lives in the village of Villas del Sol with his parents. He loves to play with cars and balls. His father is a conductor and his mother is a sales person and together they earn about $400 a month. Tomas takes good care of his new toothbrush, toothpaste and glass. Thanks to your donation he is happy and day after day practices his hygiene and protects his teeth.

Felipe was born in Bello the 29th of August in 2005. He lives with his parents and two brothers in the village of Pachelly. His father is an umpire at football games that are played in his municipality and his mother works in general services. The monthly income for this family is approximately $450. Felipe enjoys creating new pictures and forms with the striking colors of paper that are in his new backpack.
